mySql  lower function

the mysql lower function converts the string value of a field to lowercase.

mysql upper() syntax

         select    lower(column_name or s_expre)    from   table_name;

the   lcase(str) is a synonym for lower()

         select    lcase(column_name or s_expre)    from   table_name;

mysql lower function example

the following mysql statement selects the 'firstname'   'salary' columns from the "users" table, and convert the 'firstname' column value from uppercase to lowercase.
